Montecristo - Montecristo Petit No. 2
The Montecristo Petit No.2 does not disappoint as it simply a Montecristo No.2, but shorter.
This cigar is full of flavors, comes in an impeccable build.
Although it is young in terms of maturity, it can be left to mature for better flavors.
To summarize, this Petite No. 2 is for those who want to experience the Montecristo no 2, but on a budget.
The Montecristo Petit No.2 is presented in a luxurious box of 10 cigars with Habanos Packing Code CB-UW-n-10-n-10
Length: 4.7 inches (120 mm)
Diameter: 20.64 mm
Ring gauge: 52

The petit No 2 is expertly rolled, even though the seams can be seen. The wrapping that holds this cigar shows some veins on its body but looks good still. The wrapping is also smooth with an oily feel. The color is similar to that of a Colorado cigar, with milky chocolate color. The exquisite Montecristo band can be seen, which carries a fleur-de-lis, embossed in gold. Overall, it has a wonderful build, which is spotless and complete with a nice triple cap.
Before you start
From the wrapping, you can perceive a bit of wood, tobacco, and hay. Some spicy and leather-like aromas can also be detected when the cigar is still cold.
As soon as you open the cap, you are greeted with a perfect draw: it is neither too open nor too closed. This gives off some light floral and spicy notes. A bountiful amount of cool smoke is released as you set fire to it. A nice burn is seen as the cigar progresses, as it is consistent. While smoking, the ash remains on the cigar for one inch. A charcoal cone finishes up the impeccable build of this petit cigar.
At first, a luxurious blend of flavors can be felt here, which is similar to the first third of the Montecristo No 2. Unlike the bigger no 2, the flavors here start with more intensity, as the profile goes to almost full right off the bat. You can feel the creaminess you would expect of any Cuban cigar, making sure the other flavors are not overpowering. The most noticeable notes are those of chocolate and nuts, followed by those of cedar and tea. The notes that are less prominent but very much present are those of vanilla and coffee. The first third can be summarized in two words: sweet and creamy.
In this third, the flavors previously experienced come back again as tobacco, nuts, and chocolate can still be tasted. The sweet notes almost fade away gradually, as they are replaced with bread-like flavors. Coffee notes take the lead as the profile of the cigar is now balanced, spicy notes, such as those of white pepper; add an interesting twist to this cigar. The burn line is still neat, and a generous amount of smoke is produced.
In this last third, the cedar found in the previous third takes on a stronger wooden taste, the chocolate and coffee notes are also stronger as they level the cedar. Pepper and nutmeg blend well, giving leaving an amazing aftertaste in your mouth. The strength of the cigar gradually becomes fuller, but still remains at medium. During the smoke, the nascent nature of the cigar is detected; however, this does not mean that you will not enjoy this Petit No 2. The cigar is impressive from the time you start to the time you finish.
It is just like the Montecristo No. 2, only shorter.
